Russia Joins Space Inspector Race

WashingtonRussia’s Kosmos 2589 reached geosynchronous orbit in April.

At 36,000 km, Russia, China, and the US now each fly inspector satellite fleets, making close passes of rivals routine.

The US Space Force is replacing 8 inspector satellites with a refuelable fleet aimed at “space superiority at scale.”
